Job Summary

At Daifuku Oceania our developers construct quality applications using the .NET and Java programming components and integrate applications with other technologies and delivers on project to specification. Assist with software deployment and configuration related to project delivery.

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Developer to join the Warehouse Control System team who works on many projects in distribution, 3PL warehousing and airports.

As a Software Developer, your experience with the Java /Oracle stack, with a mix of Web UI, backend business rule and, Oracle DB will contribute to our Auckland based team, constructing quality applications. Working on projects in New Zealand and Australia, you can participate in the onsite works, and get to see your software running some of the biggest Warehouse operations in our region.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Follow the Agile/Kanban process to
    • Contribute to the definition of user stories
    • Contribute to the definition of the detailed design
    • For each iteration, contribute to the sprint planning meeting, the sprint demo and the sprint retrospective
  • Follow the "Done" process within iterations to
    • Define system tests for user stories
    • Design and code user stories
    • Participate in code reviews
    • Maintain automated tests
    • Perform system testing of user stories
    • Maintain the documentation
  • Proactively suggest new technologies and functionalities to improve product
  • Assist the project team with deployment and test on site where appropriate
  • Rectify issues/bugs found by testing
  • Aid in the creation and execution of demos with customers
  • Contribute to the operational support of our customers

Skills & Experience

As a Software Developer, you'll be looking to join a team that is invested in your success and your future.

Your qualifications and experience will include:

  • Tertiary qualification with a focus on software development
  • Understanding of Agile methodology (SCRUM and Kanban)
  • Strong experience with Java programming and Oracle DB
  • Web Development: ASP, .NET, MVC, JavaScript and CSS
  • Experience of integration with third party software
  • Experience in diagnosing errors and fault finding using appropriate tools
  • Experience with Microsoft Stack, .NET and C# skills
  • Understanding the warehousing industry will be a bonus for this role
