Port Manager

Broad-scope leadership opportunity, to ensure strategic and operational delivery in a key partnering relationship with Perth Airport

The purpose of this role is to lead and manage the Operational and Maintenance activities of the Baggage Handling Systems and Aerobridges for all Terminals at Perth Airport. Reporting to the Major Ports Performance Manager, the opportunity will be to take proactive responsibility for the success of your business unit, combining team leadership and operational management skills, all through a commercial, safety and customer centric lens.

With proactive oversight of operational activities, you'll inspire a culture of safety first and operational excellence, to exceed customer expectations and build on the mutually successful commercial partnership.

Specific areas of focus will include:

  • Ensuring cost-effective and operationally efficient rostering, fostering a collaborative team environment, promoting Daifuku's safety absolutes and values.
  • Leadership, training, support and development of team members.
  • Representing Daifuku in interactions with customers and stakeholders, ensuring understanding of and delivery to contract commitments.
  • Collaborating with Daifuku teams to continually provide improvement initiatives.
  • Preparation and presentation of Operational & Maintenance reports.
  • Budget management & Profit and Lost tracking responsibility.
  • Ensuring preventative maintenance requirements are met, as per contractual requirements.
  • Engaging with key business partners to identify and implement smart maintenance technology.
  • Accuracy in administration and reporting including staff records, audits, Workplace Health Safety and Environment reports and all other relevant management reporting.

About you

You'll bring strong people leadership skills, with experience in empowering teams, delegating tasks and managing resources across multiple areas of activity. Safety first will be a foundation of your leadership approach.

You'll have a proactive and innovative approach to problem solving and have previous experience in operational management functions including managing staff, cost control and budget management. Previous experience in aviation and/or a material handling environment would be beneficial.

This position will be based in a highly secured area and will require the ability to obtain Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
