Site Manger

Daifuku Oceania is a global leader in automation. We have an opportunity for a Site Manger based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

Work across industries and client groups, at the front line of Daifuku, managing and supervising site activities and installation of projects, supporting the delivery of Daifuku Oceania projects.

About the role

As a Global Leader in material handling automation, Daifuku Oceania continues to experience rapid growth in delivery of Airports, Warehouse and Courier logistics projects. As a result, we are seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Site Manager. This role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney.

As the allocated Site Manager for a particular project, you will have oversight in all areas which will include safety, quality, resources, risks and costs and ensure these aspects are managed such that projects are installed and commissioned on schedule, on budget and safely.

The Team

You will work in a cross-team environment, collaborating with the Project Managers, Project Engineers, Health and Safety Advisors and other Daifuku team members.

About You

You will understand that successful project delivery is based on good project discipline and excellent leadership and relationship skills to get the best out of installation teams.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain a Workplace Health and Safety Plan and Project Risk Registers
  • Establish clear budgets for each site sub-contractor with the Project Manager
  • Provide clear direction to site supervisors on site
  • Complete site investigations and compilation of site design data
  • Supervision of subcontractors ensuring adherence with contract requirements
  • Management of site QA ensuring installation testing is thoroughly carried out, recorded and signed off
  • Working with the Project Manager on contract variation orders and scope change requests
  • Site design including co-ordination of services, establishment of cable routes, positioning of equipment
  • Onsite commissioning and trouble shooting
  • Represent Daifuku Oceania at site meetings, be the Daifuku face and co-ordinate meetings
  • Assist with delivery of the project to client operations and maintenance staff including staff training
  • Assist with preparation of design documentation and drawings
  • Assist with procurement

To be successful in this position you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Trade or Tertiary qualifications in either Electrical or Mechanical field along with experience
  • Experience in detailed electrical and control system operation.
  • Previous experience in management role including staff, cost control and budget management.
  • Qualifications in Safety such as Certificate IV
  • Strong people management and delegation skills along with the ability to manage resources across several areas of activity.
  • Sound knowledge of Project Management principles and techniques as they apply to installation activities.
  • High degree of competence in reading and understanding detailed design documentation.
  • Customer centric.
