People and Culture Business Partner

Daifuku Oceania is a multi-national company with an exciting opportunity for an highly experienced People and Culture Business Partner to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Operating as a trusted People and Culture partner, you'll have the ability to develop strong partnering relationships across our business, providing timely, high-quality strategic advice and operational delivery on everything people and culture for our Malaysia team.
In conjunction with the wider people and culture team in Australia and New Zealand, you will contribute by developing, improving and maintaining our people programmes.
We offer a values-driven, fast paced, team orientated work environment and you will be surrounded by a supportive team and a People and Culture Coordinator on site working towards transforming the people function together with the wider team for Daifuku Oceania.
Job Summary
This People and Culture Business Partner reports to the Executive General Manager People and Culture based in New Zealand.
Daifuku Oceania business geographies include Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Japan.
About the Role
Our People and Culture Business Partner role works with our leaders to provide strategic advice and implementation across all things people including, employment relations, mobility, career development, rewards and recognition and talent acquisition. In this role you will be the go-to person for all things people in Malaysia ensuring we provide the best solutions for our business and our people.
About You
We are looking for a person that is pragmatic, hands on and can balance project work with day to day execution aligning their geography for long term sustainability and success with the other Daifuku Oceania geographies. We need someone that can do as well as partner.
To be successful in the role we are looking for:
- 5+ years HR experience in a complex business in a similar role, 7+ years in a generalist role
- Previous demonstrated business partnering experience
- Experience working with unionised workforces
- A broad generalist knowledge across all areas of People and Culture, employment relations, benefits, leave, mobility, learning and development
- Previous experience in a engineering, manufacturing or IT environment is preferred
- Proven experience in leading the People and Culture function and confident in Business Partnering
In addition to strong technical abilities you will need to be able to:
- Work as an effective member of the onsite and offsite team to help achieve our people goals
- Demonstrate initiative, provide suggestions and implement change
- Be customer focused and ensure high-quality solutions are delivered at all times
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication both with internal and external customers across a variety of levels and backgrounds.
