About the Role

As a Global Leader in material handling automation, Daifuku Oceania continues to experience rapid growth in delivery logistics projects. As a result, we are seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Site Manager. This role will be based in South Auckland with a frequent travel to our Auckland office. The role is a fixed term one for 18 - 24 months whilst the project is being finalised.

As the allocated Site Manager for a particular project, you will have oversight in all areas which will include safety, quality, resources, risks and costs and ensure these aspects are managed such that projects are installed and commissioned on schedule, on budget and safely.

Site Manager's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working with and providing site support to the Project Managers, Project Engineers and other DOC business units
  • Development and maintenance of WHSE Site Specific Safety Plan and Project Site Risk Registers
  • Reviewing and / or development of SWMS for all high-risk activities on site
  • Ensuring strict adherence with work place site health and safety requirements for DOC staff, visitors and subcontractors
  • Establishing clear budgets for each site sub-contractor with the Project Manager
  • Using site progress tracking tools to monitor progress of sub-contractors in accordance with the main project schedule. Be able to clearly articulate progress rates for data entry personal on site to update company reports
  • Assisting the project manager assessing progress claims for sub-contractors on site
  • Providing clear direction to site supervisors on site. These could be direct DOC site supervisors or sub-contractor site supervisors
  • Site investigations and compilation of site design data as directed
  • Management of site QA ensuring installation testing is thoroughly carried out, recorded and signed off. Witnessing tests as required

About You

You will understand that successful project delivery is based on good project discipline and excellent leadership and relationship skills to get the best out of installation teams.

In addition, you be able to demonstrate:

  • Mechanical / electrical trade experience
  • Experience as an installation supervisor or site manager on material handling projects for greenfield and / or brownfield sites
  • Technical expertise with material handling systems and solutions from a project or maintenance perspective
  • Excellent understanding and demonstrated experience in the application of WHSE site safety management processes on construction and installation projects
  • Desire to deliver high quality installations. Establishing clear budgets for each site sub-contractor with the Project Manager
  • Ability to use site progress tracking tools to monitor progress of sub-contractors in accordance with the main project schedule. Be able to clearly articulate progress rates for data entry personal on site to update company reports
  • Management of site QA ensuring installation testing is thoroughly carried out, recorded and signed off. Witnessing tests as required
  • Effective leadership style with a bias for resolution and action
