About the role

As a Global Leader in material handling automation Daifuku Oceania continues to experience rapid growth designing and delivering an increasingly complex portfolio of material handling projects for Aviation and Logistic clients.

As a SCADA Engineer, based in our Kuala Lumpur Office, you will be installing, configuring, documenting, deploying, site testing, supporting and performing end-user training for software solutions for the Daifuku. With a product development focus, you will be the voice of the customer to feedback end-user feature requests to the software team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting Project Team in Emulation of SCADA for customer
  • Preparing documentation of proposed system functionality via Functional Design and Detailed Design Specifications and writing Factory Acceptance testing documentation
  • Ensuring adherence to the project specifications and working with other functional teams to ensure that the delivered solution will meet the client requirements
  • Co-ordination and working with the overall Project Manager (e.g. input into project schedules, co-ordination with other engineering teams, providing submittal materials and information as required, etc)
  • Co-ordination with the Daifuku ITS/HLC team to specify the solution's architecture and hardware platform required
  • Development of SCADA and HMI systems using a variety of software packages
  • Working with the project engineering teams (PLC, HLC) in the effective and efficient development of an integrated solution for a project
  • Installation and configuration of Daifuku and 3rd party software
  • Development of project documentation - functional description specification; test plans; technical manuals; training manuals, project submittals, etc.
  • On-site deployment, including liaising with the client, their representatives and their subcontractors
  • Working closely with project team members on-site as part of an integrated site commissioning team
  • Carrying out and documenting the various testing phases: HLC system; integrated system; internal FAT; client witnessed FAT; internal SAT; client witnessed SAT
  • Developing and maintaining a close working relationship with the client and/or their representatives to manage the client through the commissioning and testing phases
  • Connecting remotely to the system in question to provide direct assistance to site staff or to perform work on the system from a corrective maintenance point of view, this work may require connecting into the remote system outside of the site standard operating hours
  • Travelling to site where and when required - works on-site may have to be performed outside of site operational hours

About you

As a SCADA Engineer, you will have proven experience in design, development, deployment, commissioning and testing of SCADA and HMI systems, Broad Control Systems & IT understanding, as well as problem-solving and troubleshooting, individually and in a team.

Desirable to have Tertiary qualifications in Controls, IT (or equivalent)or, Software development or extensive industry experience.

Based on your problem-solving ability, critical reasoning, innovative thinking, relationship building and communication skills are seen as a trusted advisor by your stakeholders. You enjoy working in a supportive team, where knowledge sharing is encouraged.
